Ezekiel Reifler Edwards
Staff Attorney
Zeke Edwards is a staff attorney and a Mayer Brown Fellow focusing on eyewitness identification.
Before joining the Innocence Project in October 2006, Zeke worked for four years at the Bronx Defenders, a community-based public defender office in the South Bronx. While at BXD, Zeke represented over 2,000 clients in felony and misdemeanor jury and bench trials, preliminary hearings, and grand jury proceedings, in addition to addressing their needs for civil representation and social services.
From 1996 to 1999, Zeke was an investigator at the Capital Defender Office in Manhattan working on behalf of people facing the death penalty.
Zeke is currently a Criminal Justice Fellow at the Drum Major Institute for Public Policy, a non-partisan, non-profit progressive think tank promoting social and economic fairness.
Zeke is a 1995 graduate of Vassar College and a 2002 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was a Public Interest Scholar focusing on criminal defense and international human rights.
